Damage dealing heroes are the best at stopping the Bad Guys from getting to Jon’s house by utilizing their purely damaging and crowd control special abilities.  It is important to recognize that having high damage output is also a form of damage mitigation; killing enemies quickly means they will have less time to deal damage to your heroes.
